hey this is David for big bits in this video we’re gonna take a look at initial exchange offerings as wise known as IE OS and we’re first gonna start out with Finance here I’m gonna give you a little bit of a definition of what an ILO is and to start out to understand what an ILO is will also explain where an ICO is now I know these have been out for over a year now and iOS are really nothing new but we have learned a lot in over a year and there are a lot of things to kind of watch out for when it comes to ayios now I’m not gonna be giving you financial advice on what you should be doing I’m just going to peel back some of the layers on iOS for those of you who are new and don’t even know what iOS are so let’s get started by comparing an i/o to an ICO now I’m on the Finance Academy because we are going to be looking at buying it’s for our first example because they have one of the first huge ie OS so an ICO it’s a project where a team themselves conduct the fundraising so they do their own marketing they reach out and form partnerships and work with other teams to help themselves raise money and they can sell obscene amounts of their tokens and raise equally obscene amounts of money there’s many cases of icos that have sold for many many many millions of dollars and ayios are very similar to AI cos they are still the sale of these tokens are the coins but it is the exchange who does the selling for them the ICO the team who would otherwise do the ICO gives up a portion of their coins and probably pays a listing fee to the exchanges and the exchanges then help promote and sell their coin by having it on their exchange ILO program now there might be some more nuances to it than that but that is the essential part of it we’ll go into some real examples so I can show you the real differences between an ILO and an ICO now let’s go ahead and get started now if you need to the link for this is going to be in the description of the video so we’re gonna check this out go ahead and go down there and this will give you buy-in it’s Academy’s description of all of this and while you’re down there please like the video and subscribe we do a lot of content we also do content for trading for you where we do pine script tutorials but let’s move on with the behind ants launchpad so one of the first major ayios was the BitTorrent token sale and this was back in early of 2019 and you had to use your B&B or you had to have tron in order to purchase this token now there were a lot of these and it raised a lot of money and I’m gonna go into the details of what all that raised but essentially this was a huge event BitTorrent token raised a lot of money by selling a lot of tokens and this made people think that iOS this might be the next big wave in crypto to bring a lot of money into it but since then we’ve seen some sort of mixed results and ayios aren’t really the hot topic that they were in the past although that might change again here the future let’s take a look at the BitTorrent token price history let me zoom their chart back out to a weekly chart here so you can kind of see that the prices started out all the way back here in January of 2019 and at the time of recording this video they are here so this is versus USD T so this is basically the price of BitTorrent token versus the US dollar and we can see it started out here with a low of point zero zero three I’m just rounding here dollars and that’s you know three percent of a penny this is very low and the price got up to you know 18 percent of bidding is a but comparatively speaking that’s 600 percent gains so that’s really good so those are the people who bought the BitTorrent token when it first was sold on the i/o were given the opportunity to sell it at much higher prices but since then for whatever reasons the prices went down and it’s even below the introductory price on the i/o which for those who bought into it then probably not too happy about that but that’s a risk you take with trading so you can expect to see things like this happen even if it wasn’t an I am now what really set this apart was we know that BitTorrent token was an ie o and it was supposed to be part of a partnership between finance and BitTorrent token but what happened was eventually finance actually delisted BitTorrent token so the token that they helped to sell during the i/o they no longer offered its original Bitcoin pair for anymore so it was an odd move to see that you could list on an i/o and partner with an exchange and see yourself delisted several months later so what they’re doing behind the scenes here with their agreements and partnerships here doesn’t seem to be too important and well even if they did agree to potentially be delisted doesn’t seem like a few months would be a good idea to delist a very large selling ieo particularly probably one of the most notable ones that people can look back and think of if you were in the crypto space so we know that there is an odd relationship here that the exchanges have their own rules and agreements that the people who are selling their tokens must agree to and that certain conditions must be met in order to stay listed on the exchanges well what’s even more interesting is that not only are the exchanges taking a listing fee and selling these tokens for them they are also receiving the tokens as well as their own cut and then there is what well on by Nance it seems a little bit more interesting I’m not sure if all of the ILO places do this but with finance you actually have to hold the exchanges token so in order to even be able to buy into these tokens you have to purchase the exchanges tokens so this is really an interesting concept I can understand why the exchange would want to do this so that people would buy their token and give their token more utility but when it comes to actually trying to sell a token to somebody a new token to somebody it doesn’t seem very fair to those of you who are actually wanting to get into this now if you’re from America you probably won’t have a lot of opportunities to get into an ILO because these exchanges are really trying to avoid getting the SEC involved due to regulations so let’s look at this one for example this is one where they have a ticket claim in progress so you’ll probably ask what’s a ticket claim well on by Nance in order to be able to even participate to have a chance to buy these ieo tokens you have to actually hold the exchange token so we’ve already fall ready mentioned that but not only do you have to hold the tokens you have to hold a certain amount and let’s go down here to this chart it’s not on this page it’s on the next one so these are the token details for the lottery tickets so essentially you get lottery tickets to have a chance to participate in the i/o based on how many of exchanges tokens you hold in this case it’s B & B and you can see the more of that exchanges tokens you hold the better chance you actually get to participate so while iOS might be potentially very rewarding if you are able to participate in them the barrier to entry can be really big especially on exchanges like finance this is just something else to consider now I did want to go back and show you how these sort of differentiate themselves from icos especially for the project team themselves let’s take a look at the chart here for their token allocation you can see there is a lot of allocation done for the tokens they have a launchpad sale that’s what we’re working with here these are the tokens that are actually going to be sold in the ieo so they are only selling 10% of all of their tokens then they had a seed sale this is probably private investments who came in earlier such as the private sales to get in and seed the project to get started it might even be their own owners who did the seed to themselves and I’m not sure how that actually works I’m not going to talk too much about that and then of course they reserved some for their team their advisors their foundation and this is all fairly normal stuff but there is some interesting things looking here I won’t get into token economics or token topics here but what you’re going to be noticing is that they have a small section of their allocation set aside for the launchpad sale whereas if we were talking about and IC o—- they would probably be selling many many more of their tokens or attempting to sell many more of their tokens or their coins in that case and in this case they are not and that is not necessarily something they have to do but it is something that is pretty typical for ayios so let’s go ahead and get an get going on some other things now bit tricks they do also have an international ieo program I’m not sure if it’s actually still running or not I couldn’t find much information about that but one of the major things that is happening in the IE OS in that space is that there are these exchanges that seem a little bit controversial so for example this exchange p2p b2b has really high ranking on coin market cap and it has tons of ayios and it makes it fairly simple to try and list your own io they’ve got a tab at the top of their exchange you go to listing it gives you all the information to contact them and actually get involved with listing your own project here and it says hey is this your first listing so yeah is this your first listing you can get an exclusive offer let means that people are coming back to this exchange and listing multiple projects over and over and that seems a little fishy not to mention and I’ve already had this up page open but not to mention that they have this very interesting volume so for example when you think of cryptocurrency exchanges I don’t even know if any of you watching the video would have heard of p2p b2b no I have because I’ve been around and I’ve seen a lot of these things come up but if you haven’t been in the crypto space you wouldn’t know what this is whereas you might have heard of finance and possibly bit tricks but I would say for the most case p2p b2b is pretty unknown however according to their reported volume they ranked 12th on coin market cap so that looks really good so what exchanges like this may be doing and I can’t confirm this and I would hate to make the accusation that they are but exchanges like this where they appear to have volume that is unrealistic compared to the reputation which makes it seem like they are faking their volume they are getting these ieo opportunities out there to essentially collect the listing fee and get a portion of the tokens for those projects they’re essentially trying to scoop up all the IEA’s that they can make as much money as they can based on this reputation that they have a lot of volume now like I said I’m not gonna make any accusations here but when we look at their ranking with liquidity you’ll notice that this ranking on coin market cap for exchanges Lissa’s lists them pretty much in an order you might expect based on their reputation you see big exchanges like BitFenix hit BTC by Nance come up first look at number 12 here I don’t know what that one is but what’s really interesting with the exchange that I pointed out earlier it was just way down here the liquidity on this exchange is thirty sixth which is not the worst but what you’ll notice is it’s ranked 36 but it has 372 trading pairs there’s 372 markets listed so for it to be 36 and have that many pairs that means when you split that volume up of that liquidity up between all of those markets there’s not a lot of liquidity there so it’s interesting to think that they could possibly be ranked number 12 but if they manage to pull this off somehow kudos to them but it is and interesting area with ayios where you have to be careful for these potential scams or just they might not even be scams they might just be fishy looking opportunities that probably might not even be the best for your ICO so things like this or something to watch out for with ayios I would be hesitant to look for an IE o on an exchange like this personally just because of the things that I mentioned but if for example I work to be offered an opportunity into an ie o on Finance or one of these top-rated exchanges I might consider it but unfortunately I’m from America so I’m probably not gonna be getting into any ayios anytime soon but that will pretty much cover it for this video I wanted to share a little bit about what an ILO actually is give you an idea of how they actually work and give you some things that you might want to actually look out for and just just some things that you should probably be better off knowing when you’re looking at and trying to understand what an actual ieo is but I thank you for watching this video if you liked it please leave a like otherwise please subscribe because I do all kinds of videos crypto related trading be related there’s just a lot of good content here so please check out the channel subscribe and I appreciate it but R than that thank you and have a nice day [Music]

An IEO is an initial exchange offering. In an IEO a new coin or token project reaches out to exchanges to list their coin or token in their initial exchange offering platform. In return for the offering, the exchange usually receives a stake of the coins or tokens, a listing fee and an opportunity to utilize their own exchange’s utility token if they have one. The coin or token project team now gets the benefit of no longer having to manage their own sales, while letting the exchange help handle marketing and eventually a full listing on the exchange.
